three year check-up ben had his annual wellness appointment with dr. brooks this morning. he's doing great, just as we'd expected. his ears are nice and clear, which was really the only concern we had after the persistent infection he had last month. he is currently measuring 37.5 inches tall, which is right at the 50th percentile. he's weighing in at 38 pounds, which is the 90th percentile, but i think that's probably a little high because of all his winter clothing. at his ear check last month, he was only 32 pounds - so i'm guessing its somewhere closer to that in reality. no matter, he's a healthy little boy and the doctor had no concerns. she was impressed with his development and was impressed by how well and how much he is talking. he's well surpassed the milestones he should have met for his age - she asked if he knew at least one color (he's known all for a long while), if he could draw a circle (he can draw faces!) and if he's started trying to dress himself (yesterday after he had an accident during his nap, i came into his room to find him changing into dry undies and pants all on his own). she said that he's very bright and doing great. just what we like to hear!
