first ear infection in over four and half years of parenthood, adam and i have been lucky enough not to have to deal with an ear infection... until now. poor ben had a little cold last week, and then two nights ago he had an unexplained fever around bedtime. it came down with tylenol and he was fine by morning. then he mentioned once that his ear hurt - but when i questioned him about it a few minutes later, he told me it was fine. but then again this morning he said that it hurt again - so we called up his doctor and made an appointment. sure enough, both ears are infected. the doctor was so surprised that he wasn't more bothered - he hasn't cried or even really complained, and has been acting like his usual happy self. he's a pretty tough little guy, i guess. he's on antibiotics for the next ten days, and should be feeling great in a day or so.
