seadogs game

in honor of father's day, we caught a baseball game last night with my dad, my stepsister and her son. ben seemed to remember last year's game (probably more from seeing pictures than actual memory) and he was excited to go again. he even borrowed a red sox shirt from sophie to wear - it was hugely big on him, but very cute nonetheless. he was also mostly excited to see rigel again. here is a cute shot of the three cousins hanging out in front of the stadium before the game...

during the game, ben did pretty well. he was a little antsy and climbed around on all of us a bit, but he seemed to sit pretty still while he was with grandpa. the only real issue we had was that ben had to use the potty about ten times! poor adam probably saw more of the bathrooms that of the game. part of it was probably just the excitement of everything and the fact that the big stadium bathrooms were something new - and part of it, i'm sure, had to do with the full cup of juice/water he downed when we first arrived. lesson learned for us!

the funniest part of the evening was the ride home. we didn't get to the car until about 9:15, so the kiddos were both pooped. sophie passed out about 10 minutes into the ride. ben, however, talked the entire time. he literally kept talking for the whole 45 minutes we were in the car - and kept it up even after we got home all through getting him ready for bed. he just went on and on and on. there was one ten minute stretch that sounded like this: "mama, whatcha doin'? whatcha doin' now? mama, whatcha doin'? we home yet? we almost there? mama, whatcha doin'?" over and over. it was hilariously cute.
