like a big boy today was sophie's field day at school, so ben and i came a little early for pick-up so we could watch some of the fun. as soon as sophie saw us arrive, she ran over to grab ben. she lead him over to the line for water balloons and showed him how to throw them. immediately, ben joined right in. even after sophie ran off to do something else, ben just kept getting back in line all by himself. he loved the water balloons and loved hanging out with all the preschoolers. then this evening we took the kids to the playground and ben was running all over the place. he wasn't bothered by any of the bigger kids and he kept right up with them. adam remarked at how polite he was, too, while we were there. when there were kids in front of him, he always said, "excuse me" when he wanted to get by them. of course, he's so sweet and quiet, they didn't usually hear him - but he kept trying! i can't believe how big he's getting!
