Father's Day Weekend Ben and I started out Father's day weekend with a little man time. Sophie had a birthday party to go to with Aimee, so the men of the family had some time together. Now, knowing that it might be dangerous (for the house at least) to leave Ben and I alone for a few hours with nothing to keep us out of trouble, Sophie and Aimee found us some chores. We didn't mind. First we went to the dump (I know, exciting, right?), brought rented movies back to the store, and then stopped by at Sophie's end of year T-Ball game to collect her pictures and certificates (Sophie had to pick between her last game and the birthday party - it wasn't really a tough decision for her). After hanging out to catch the end of the game, we acquired the aforementioned items, and hurried home to an early lunch. I made us grilled cheese at Ben's request and it was off to bed (for him). Later that night we had our Sea Dogs game with Grandpa Ben, Jessica, and Rigel. On Sunday the kiddos let me sleep late and then took me out to breakfast. Of course Ben ended up with the last highchair that had broken straps so we couldn't secure him. Even with this unusual amount of freedom, he only tried to make a run for it a couple of times - generally he just wanted to get out and sit next to Aimee. Both kids were really good and I was proud of them. Ben also made me a Father's day card and even wrote his own name. It was a little hard to read, but pretty good for a two year old. He and Sophie were on their best behavior all day and really made me feel loved.
