happy mother's day!

i had a really wonderful day. the kids were excited and they had their moments of over-stimulation (yelling, not listening, etc) - but their hearts were always in the right place.

i expected breakfast in bed, because sophie has been telling me about it for the better part of a year. there's a book we read a lot with a little girl who makes her mom breakfast in bed for mother's day; she liked that idea and has been promising me she would do that for me. true to her word, she and ben helped adam make scrambled eggs and toast this morning and brought it up to me in bed. it was a nice treat and adam told me how excited they both were and how much they helped him out.

i also got a cute picture that the kiddos worked on together, which they presented to me all framed and ready for display. that is my favorite kind of gift!

we spent the afternoon at my mom's having lunch and visiting, which is always a great way to spend a day. then after a little down time when we got home, adam headed to work and i got the kiddos ready for bed. we spent some extra time snuggling together on sophie's bed while i read to them. i am such a lucky mama, and have two of the most beautiful, sweet children ever!
