still working on it

ben's still doing pretty well with the potty. he does excellent at home and hasn't had an accident in days - he runs around pants-free whenever we're home and he takes himself to the potty (or asks someone to come with him) when he needs to go. i don't really worry about it anymore.

being out and about is another story, though. he's getting there, but he's not really ready to be without a diaper yet. he has some waterproof training pants that we use for very short trips, like bringing sophie to preschool, but for shopping or longer trips like that i don't think he's ready yet. he does well and sometimes will stay dry the whole time, but he hasn't gotten to where he's consistently telling us he needs to go while we're out. i don't mean to sound like he doesn't do it at all - he's has asked and used public restrooms successfully a few times, but he's not doing it every time.

one step at a time, though. he's doing really well and getting the idea. we're in no hurry and know he'll get it all figured out in his own time. in the meantime, we just keep encouraging him!
