independent ben has been wanting to do everything on his own lately. he watches sophie so closely and wants to do all the things she does. which is hard sometimes, because i just don't have enough free hands all the time. an example is that he always wants to walk now. well, that's ok sometimes - but at the grocery store he really needs to sit in the cart or i'd be there for hours trying to get the shopping done. sometimes it's hard enough just keeping sophie reigned in. however, it's also really cute that he wants to be so independent. he asks everywhere we go if he can walk. he'll start asking as soon as we get in the car: "mama, me walk at the store?" i let him do it whenever possible, and he's starting to understand that he has to be patient sometimes. it's sad for me because i just want to be able to pick him up and hold him while he's still little enough, but it's also fun to watch him growing more into a little boy.
