weekend away we had a little bit of christmas early this weekend when we went to massachusetts to celebrate with adam's family. his sister and family are headed to disney for the holiday, so we all decided to gather on saturday at his brother's house to exchange gifts and spend some time as a whole family. we got there a little after noon on saturday and stayed until sunday morning. ben had a great time playing with all of his cousins and exploring all of noah's cool toys... somehow someone else's toys are always more exciting! ben had a great afternoon nap, then the kids all sat together at the table and decorated some christmas cookies renee baked for them. ben did mostly eating, but he added a little frosting, too. the next morning we pretty much got up and left, as adam was on-call and needed to be home, but i'm glad we stayed the night. sophie and ben loved the sleepover part and it gave the adults a nice relaxed evening together after the littlest kiddos were in bed. i was really proud of how well ben did the whole weekend. he was great on the car rides, slept great - both at naptime and at night, and was generally really well-behaved. he had one moment of frustration where he ended up chucking his toy car at noah, but apologized and all of the adults got a good laugh. after this little taste of christmas, ben is really looking forward to the real deal now!
