...becoming a family of four

Lilypie Fourth Birthday tickers

My little man,

Today you turn two. Let me begin by saying that I don't remember giving you permission to grow up. You were supposed to stay my little baby man forever. I have to admit, though, that I have really enjoyed watching you grow these past two years.

Lately you have really taken off, both physically and developmentally. You are finally starting to fit into clothes for your age. Your vocabulary has also exploded recently and you are beginning to count and say your letters. Perhaps best of all, you have started saying "I love you" and "Daddy" (instead of Dada). Those really are the sweetest things to hear.

So, I have resigned myself to the fact that my little man is growing up. Even though you are only two, I can take comfort in the fact that I can tell you will grow up to be the best of men. You are already such a sweet kid. Always remember that the most important part of being a man is caring for those you love.

That being said, don't be in a hurry to grow up (your Daddy still hasn't, just ask Mama). I love you so much, my Benji-man.

Love, Daddy.
