happy halloween

how cute is that little monkey?! the costume is just a generic monkey, but ben decided that he was curious george - and whenever anyone asked him what he was going to be for halloween, he quickly answered "george!" he's been eyeing his costume for the past few weeks and was pretty excited to get into it.

we started our festivities with a quick trip to windham in the late afternoon to visit grandpa paul, brianna at work, and then my mom's house. when we headed home, both kiddos had all kinds of great goodies and the trick-or-treating hadn't even begun!

after we got home, we made our first stop at the neighbors next door and they decided to come out with us. they have two daughters, 2.5 and 4.5, and all the kids were pretty excited to be going together. we all walked to three houses, then the daddies and ben headed back home to pass out candy and the girls kept on going for a little bit longer. ben was tired and although he was being really good, we knew it was time to let him run around a little bit and get dinner started.

when sophie and i got home, we all ate some homemade pizza while we waited for trick-or-treaters to come. it was a little bit of struggle getting ben into his pajamas and ready for bed, but by that time it was well past his bedtime. it was a fun day and makes me even more excited for the other upcoming holidays, having seen how much he enjoys it and understands now - it's going to be fun!
