catching up

ben has really hit a growth spurt lately. i remember sophie hit a big one right around her second birthday, too... i wonder if he'll keep up the way she did.

he's always been about a size behind his age in clothing, but in the last month or two he's started really fitting into his 18-24 month clothing. some of the pants still need to be tightened way in with the adjustable elastic, but he can certainly wear them fine. i finally packed up the 12-18 month stuff a couple of weeks ago.

i even went down into the basement last night and dug out the bin of bigger sizes we had downstairs - a mix of stuff that has been passed on from cousin noah and things that we just bought ahead on clearance - and brought the 2T stuff up into his room. some of it is still too big to wear (mainly the pants) but the shirts are ok, if a little baggy. i would never have guessed i'd be putting anything with a 2T tag on him already. he's certainly grown. i'm guessing that we'll find he's right up around the 50th percentile now when we have his 2 year check up next month.
