could this really be it?

i think ben might actually be potty training. he's showed a lot of interest, but before this week i kind of figured it would pass. he's not even two yet, and although i encouraged him i certainly didn't want to push the issue.

well, he's kind of taken the concept and is running with it. for the past couple of days, he hasn't worn a diaper at all while we're home except at night and during nap time. the rest of the time he's running around bottom-less and uses the potty whenever he needs to. today he didn't have a single accident. we even went out to the store - we were gone for about three hours - and he asked to pee twice while we were driving (once there and once back) and i pulled over and let him use the car potty. and then he asked once while we were at the store. so he's moved past the point where he's just peeing at home when he's naked and thinks its fun - he's anticipating it and letting me know. his nap diaper was wet, but very barely - and he usually has really wet nap diapers. i think he's finally realizing that it doesn't feel great to sit in a wet diaper, so he's working to avoid it. he even pooped this morning all by himself - didn't tell me until he was done!

he got his first pairs of underwear today - the cutest little man boxers. here he is strutting around in his monkey undies before bed tonight...

i'm so crazy proud of him - i'm not counting on him being totally diaper-free just yet, but he's off to a great start!
