story land

we took our second annual trip to story land yesterday. what a fun day! we ended up moving the trip from sunday to saturday because of weather, and we ended up with a beautiful day. we spent the entire day there - from about 9:30 until the park closed at 5:00. my dad and catherine came, too, along with jessica, attila, and rigel. it was nice having a big group and lots of grown-up hands to help with the little ones.

ben was a little unsure of the whole place when we first got there, but he warmed up to it pretty quickly and ended up having a fabulous time. probably my favorite moment was when we went on the first ride of the day - the teacups. ben looked a little nervous at first and clung to me for a bit, but then we all assured him it was going to be fun, and once the ride started he really got into it! he was laughing and kept saying "weee" and "whoooaa" over and over again. and of course we caught it on camera, so here's the photo progression...

ben also went twice on a different teacup-type ride, the carousel, a balloon-shaped ferris wheel, and some flying shoes. he took a little "tour" through an old mine with grandpa, daddy and sophie. and of course he had fun playing in the toddler area with different activities like a tiny ball pit and lots of little houses he could explore.

after the whole group had some ice cream together, everyone else decided to call it a day, but sophie still wanted to get to a few more rides so we chose to stay for the last hour until the park closed. ben finally gave into sleep while sophie and adam waited in line for a ride. he nodded off in his stroller and slept until we got back to the car to head home. it was so much fun for adam and i just to see how much he enjoyed the day - he lights up with a big smile whenever we mention it. i can't wait to go back next year when he'll be able to do even more!
