special sleepover a musician that brianna and i saw earlier in the year was coming back to portland last saturday night, and we had planned to go. i hoped we'd find a way that adam could come, too, because he'd been digging the cd i'd played around the house (chris o'brien if you're interested) - but after checking with his parents and my mom it didn't look like it was going to work out. then when we were having lunch at my grandmother's on friday i thought to ask if she was free... and she happy to come stay with the kids while the three of us went out! she got to the house just before dinner and once the kids were fed and cleaned up, we gave lots of hugs and kisses and headed out. they played for a bit (sophie recounted some ring-around-the-rosie fun), and then grammy said everyone went to bed easily. when we got home, everyone was sound asleep - ben in his crib and sophie and great grammy curled up in her bed. we shared a nice breakfast the next morning and then grammy headed home. what a fun overnight for everyone! we got to go out, which we are so rarely able to do, the kids got a fun sleepover with their great grammy, and we all got to visit a bit the next morning. thanks grammy!
