first not-by-mama haircut ben's hair has been getting a little shaggier lately and since he's never had it cut professionally, we thought it might be time to go in and get it evened up a bit. i'd like to grow it out - not so that its long, but so that the layers are all grown out. i've been thinking about exactly what i wanted for awhile now, but hadn't seen a real example until this week at sophie's soccer practice when i noticed a little boy about ben's age with really cute hair. getting the chance to look at it for a few minutes gave me a better idea of how ben's will need to be shaped as it grows. so with that direction, we decided it was best to have someone who knows what they're doing get it started for us. this morning we had an appointment and adam and both kids got their hair cut. ben went first, and he did a great job! he sat on adam's lap and sat perfectly still the entire time. i was a little worried because he usually gets squirmy when i do it. he looked unsure, but he never seemed scared. when it was over, he got a little lollipop and had a ball playing with toys in the waiting area.
