definitely climbing now

while he's always enjoyed climbing, his height has been a bit of a limiting factor. he's grown lately, though, and finally gotten just tall enough to be able to climb on most anything. he's up and down off the couch with no problems now and does pretty well about sitting while he's on it and gets back down well by himself. he's also tall enough to reach the top of the kitchen counter - an area i thought would be safer a bit longer - so we need to be careful to push everything back from the edges. i was washing dishes the other day and looked over and he was "talking" on my cell phone - i was next to positive it had been on the counter... so i asked him to put it back and sure enough he reached up on his tip-toes and put it back up there. he's surely a growing boy!

here's a cute picture of the proud little guy one of the first times he climbed up on the couch (excuse the diaper-only look - it was hot!)...
