Vacation This past week was my first vacation in over 8 months. Ben and Sophia have both grown so much and I have been looking forward to having some quality time with them. I have also been looking forward to a night off with Aimee, since it had been over 18 months since we last had one. We started off the vacation with the aforementioned night off for Aimee and me. Ben spent his first night away at his Grammy's house (as already documented). Sophia spent the night at her Nana's house (best to split the kids up right now). Both kids had a great time. Aimee and I had fun going out to eat at a fun restaurant and just spending time together. The next two days of vacation were spent working on the playhouse. It is coming along slowly, but looks good. We haven't had any major injuries or setbacks, so that helps. Wednesday we took a trip out to Chuck E Cheese to thank the kids for being so good (well, most of the time anyway) while Aimee and I worked on the playhouse. We had a great time. Ben loved the toddler play area and slide and did well by himself, although it made me nervous. He also loved "driving" on the rides and even tried his hand at ski ball. I think what he loved most, though, was running around with all the other kids. Thursday and Friday were rainy, so we took the opportunity to get some shopping done. On Friday I also had some time with the kids while Aimee ran to the store alone. We had a blast playing throughout the house, and Ben was a great helper cleaning up when we were done. I even got about 15 minutes of cuddle time with one kid on each side of me, which never happens. Ben just keeps getting more and more expressive and interested in being a part of what others are doing. He used to never sit still long enough to play with him long, but lately has shown a more interest in group activities. He still likes to do his own thing as well, which I think is very important. It has been a fantastic vacation. I can't wait until the next one!
