first sibling-on-sibling injury

let me first say that ben and sophie typically get along really well. but of course they have their occasional squabbles and have made each other cry a few times... and today we had our first injury.

ben actually bit sophie. right on the face.

to be fair, he didn't really do it to be mean, he just kind of panicked and that was how he could fight back. while we were outside working on the playhouse, the kiddos were playing in an empty cardboard box. sophie tried to climb in with ben and was basically sitting on him as she was trying to wiggle her way in next to him. he was stuck and freaked out a bit - she happened to have her face really close to his while she was pushing on him, and so he bit. he's *never* done anything like that and i felt bad for him, too, because he clearly felt sorry and hadn't known what he was doing was going to hurt her. poor sophie got a pretty nice little bite on her cheek. she wasn't even mad at ben, although she has been a little wary since then when he's tried to give her kisses. tonight before bed she even said, "but he might bite me!" she doesn't seem to be holding a grudge at all, though, and knows that he didn't mean to hurt her.

anyway - here's the photographic evidence...
