first overnight was a success

ben had his very first sleepover on saturday night at grammy's house. he was pretty active, from what we hear, and didn't stick to any of the schedule we told grammy about, but overall he did really well. he had a really short nap on saturday afternoon, which i guess was just due to being somewhere different. then he woke up in the night, which he hasn't done in weeks, because he had wet through his diaper and pjs. my mom just changed him, though, and he went right back to sleep with no problems. he was wet again in the morning, so he got a nice little bath first thing. he took a better nap on sunday, and then we were back to pick him up shortly after that. he did lots of playing, went for a walk around the neighborhood with grammy, and spent some time learning about bikes in jeff's work shed. it sounds like he had a lot of fun.

the best part, though, was when we came back to pick him up. he was standing in the glass door with my mom and he was practically jumping up and down with excitement, yelling, "hi! hi!" over and over and waving. we were greeted with huge smiles and great big hugs and kisses - a perfect way to know we were missed. he's such a big boy now!

we left our camera with my mom, so here are a few pictures from his weekend...

having some breakfast... apparently he learned some table manners from grammy, too, haha...

 mechanic lessons with jeff...

and the requisite teasing photo... with sophie's first sleepover we came home to a picture of her with a can of beer and a bag of chips... for ben it was a jar of peanut butter and a bottle of wine...
