mother's day i had a lovely mother's day yesterday. it was just the kiddos and i at home, since adam had to work as i mentioned in the previous entry, and we spend the afternoon at my mom's for a cookout. both kids had a great time playing on the swings and in the sandbox - they required an immediate bath when we got home, that was for sure! on saturday, when we celebrated with adam, i got the sweetest little book-card from him and sophie and ben. adam told me that sophie worked really hard on it (they shut themselves in the playroom for close to an hour one morning this week - i knew there was something top-secret going on in there) and planned all of the words herself - she just needed adam to tell her how to spell them. and ben contributed some very nice scribbles to the mix. so sweet!
