haircut #5

i gave ben another haircut yesterday. i'd been tempted to let it keep growing on the top and just neaten up the back and sides (he was looking really shaggy), but after looking him over, his hair just isn't quite thick enough yet... so i cut it pretty short again and hopefully it will start growing in thicker. i don't want his hair to be long, just a different style than what he's had so far - and so that top part has to grow in more so we've got enough hair to work with.

here's how our big boy looks now...

i'm always so surprised by how much older he looks after a haircut. this was a pretty drastic cut, too - i knew he hair was getting long, but i was amazed by how long it really was in the back. i must have taken at least two inches off in the very back. it's hardly perfect, but it's not bad - although next time we'll probably take him to a professional if we decide to do anything more complicated with the style. i can manage the most simple cut, but that's all i'm brave enough for!
