first molar is through! ben's first molar poked through overnight. i had rubbed oragel on his gums before bed, so i know it wasn't there then, but when i checked this morning when i was getting him dressed the outside corners had definitely come through.
of course, he still only has two teeth on the bottom (which i personally think is adorable), but this marks his seventh tooth in total. i knew the molars were starting to push their way down because he's been having a really hard time at night. he's been waking more often to nurse - typically two or three times, when he had been down to just once. last night he was up four times. needless to say, it's exhausting for me, but it's even harder to see him in pain. i have read that the sucking motion of nursing is helpful in easing the pain, so i'm more than willing to keep getting up with him. sophie went through a pretty rough period like this when her first molars came in, too, so i was kind of expecting it. hopefully he'll get through it quickly.
