an appropriate topic for this valentine's day, i wanted to write about how affectionate ben has become in the past month. he gives kisses unprompted all the time. he'll turn his head up to me (particularly when he's being carried in the sling) and say "mmm" with his lips pursed until i lean down to kiss him. he'll do it over and over again, giggling. he also likes to give little mini-snuggles when we're holding him; he'll lay his head down for just a second or two and cuddle right in. then he's up and off again to whatever he was doing, but it's still so sweet. and at nap time and bedtime, he goes to sleep hugging his "ni-ni bear" (the build-a-bear he made a few weeks ago). i'll put him in his crib and he'll immediately grab hold of the bear and lay down with it. i've got to try to get a picture one of these days, because it's about the most adorable thing i've ever seen.
