playing in the snow he wasn't sure what to think at first - the poor kiddo couldn't even move in all of his layers. i bought him a nice warm coat for being outdoors, but that was all i could justify seeing that he'll probably only get out a couple of times this winter. so he was using sophie's old snowpants and boots. the snowpants fit fine, but the boots are about two sizes too big, so he couldn't really walk around. the snow is so deep, i figured he wouldn't be doing any walking anyhow, so really the boots were just to keep him warm. once we were all bundled up, we headed out into the driveway and took the kids for some sled rides. ben was a little apprehensive at first, but sophie did a really good job of holding onto him and he warmed up to it pretty quickly. by the end, he was smiling and laughing. he even went for a few rides up and down the driveway all by himself. after the sledding, we let him try to crawl around in the snow for a few minutes, but he really wasn't interested. i brought him inside while sophie and adam played for a little while longer and he went right down for his nap - i guess all the fun tired him out!
