first jack-o-lantern we did our halloween pumpkin carving yesterday afternoon. we just got one pumpkin for both kiddos to play in, which worked out well because ben didn't really have that much interest in the actual pumpkin. he spent most of his time chasing around the bowls of seeds and "guts" as we continually moved them out of his reach. he reached into the pumpkin a few times, and really liked playing with the little scoop tool, but he really just wanted to try to eat the seeds.
he did have a lot of fun just playing on the floor with all of us as we worked. while adam and sophie finished cleaning out the pumpkin, i gave ben a quick bath to clean off all the orange that had accumulated and then he sat and happily watched sophie and i do the actual carving.
