first haircut! benjamin had his very first haircut today! he's been needing it for awhile, but we hadn't decided how to do it. the sides were really overgrown and looked like he had sideburns when they fell in front of his ears, and he had some longer pieces poking down onto his forehead. he's got a natural wave/curl and in the recent humidity the extra length was just getting out of control... his hair was always a mess! but - we weren't really ready for him to have a "big boy" cut yet and were hesitant to take him to a salon where they might get carried away and not understand exactly what we wanted. so i thought i would try to do it myself, but that made me nervous for obvious reasons. in the end, though, i decided to go for it. its not perfect or professional by any means, but i think it came out ok. he did really well - we kept him with a pretty steady supply of gerber veggie puffs, so that kept him occupied and relatively still. i just can't get over what a difference it makes - he really looks like a boy now! every time i looked at him last night i was surprised by how he looked. it makes him look so much older. and he's just so handsome! anyhow - here are pictures...
