9 months old benjamin seems to be growing right before our eyes these days. he isn't necessarily getting bigger (his growth has seemed to level off for the moment - where he used to be ahead in clothing sizes, he's now right on track with his age), but he's changing and developing and looking older every single day. the past month has seen him getting much more confident with his crawling, climbing, and cruising - he's even occasionally standing on his own for a few seconds at a time now. he's feeding himself so well with finger foods and has great hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. he's liked every new food we've given him so far; the most recent additions have been tofu, carrots, mango and watermelon. he also really loves interacting and playing - especially this silly combination of hide-and-seek and peek-a-boo that we play with sophie. one person has to hide and tries to jump out and surprise the person looking for them. when we play, either adam or i will carry ben along with us and he literally laughs out loud the entire time (which makes it pretty challenging when it's his turn to hide). he likes to sit with sophie and keep up with whatever she's doing. he's also very patient when she forgets that she needs to share with him sometimes. and of course he had his first haircut this month, which i already wrote about. still i find myself surprised by how much it changed the way he looks. it's so hard to believe that our little baby isn't really a little baby anymore.
