first little vacation

adam and i planned a little getaway this weekend to celebrate our anniversary. sophie stayed with my mom, but ben came with us. we missed sophie, of course, but it was really nice to have some time to dedicate to ben.

he is such a good little guy - he was so easy to travel with. he was no trouble in the car - he either slept or entertained himself with no problems. he was so easy when we went out to dinner; he just sat in the highchair and played and tried to flirt with some little girls on the other side of the room. he was great in the hotel room - he woke up a bit more than usual, but being his first time sleeping away from home, i think he did really well. he spent the last few hours of the morning sleeping with us in bed, which was a nice treat... we don't get that kind of cuddle time at home because sophie sleeps with us and there isn't room for four! we also spent some time in the jacuzzi tub relaxing before bedtime, and ben adored that. he had so much fun splashing (with hands and feet) and playing with the bubbles. toward the end, he was getting sleepy and just laid back with me and cuddled, which was really nice. i don't feel like i get enough time to enjoy the quiet moments like that very often.

when we got to my mom's to pick sophie up, ben was glad to see his sister and sophie said she missed ben, too. it's so nice to see them loving each other like that!
