good on the go

benjamin has a pretty easy-going personality anyway, but he is such a good traveller. for the most part, we are still sticking close to home and trying to keep him away from crowds and places where he'll be exposed to germs and that type of thing, but we have taken him out a bit here and there. i've taken him and sophie to the grocery store and we've gone as a family on a couple of quick shopping trips. and yesterday brianna and i brought him to north conway with us to do some outlet christmas shopping.

he's been so great. he tends to fuss just for a minute while we're getting him into his carseat, but as soon as he's buckled in he settles right down and sleeps most of the time in the car. whenever we go out, i always keep him in the sling, tucked in close to me, where i think he's less exposed to the elements and all of those curious strangers who like to get too close to new babies. i think being in the sling keeps him happier, too, because he's all snuggled up and warm and moving with my body the way he was used to in utero. he usually sleeps while i carry him, but even if he wakes up he's content to just look around. he fusses if he's hungry, but that's it. it's nice to be able to run a few errands and not worry about how he's going to react. he just goes with the flow.
