first smiles! today was my birthday and it just happened that my mom had taken the day off because tara had her holiday concert at school this morning. so i took sophie and ben to the concert and then we went out to lunch with my mom and grandparents. after lunch we went back to my mom's and visited with brianna a bit when she got home from school. while we were all sitting around watching ben, we were making some faces and trying to entertain him... and he actually smiled a couple of times! what a beautiful thing! these were the first times he's smiled that i am sure were *real* smiles in response to something other than a funny feeling in his tummy. what a great birthday present!
