Tour of Labor and Delivery

We finally got a chance to get a tour of the Labor and Delivery wing of the hospital where Ben will be born (barring any unfortunate events while in Connecticut next weekend). We had Sophia at a different hospital, because it was one we knew and the fertility specialist we were seeing at the time had privileges there. Now we decided to go with a hospital closer to home, as well as one with a more inviting setup.

Where we plan on having Ben, the rooms are much nicer and more homey, and there is very little chance I won't be able to stay with Aimee and Ben after delivery. When Sophia was born I almost had to go sleep in the car due to space issues (and it was the middle of January).

The staff seemed real nice, and the rooms are just incredible. They are brand new and are set up so that most of the hospital equipment is stashed away in drawers and behind cupboard doors. The rooms definitely have the feel of a bedroom in a hotel instead of a hospital delivery room. I know Aimee is also excited that they are all single serve post-partum rooms, and both L&D and post-partum rooms have their own private bathrooms with showers. The beds are also nicer and have more room, so when Sophia visits she can cuddle with Mama and Ben and do some bonding.

We are just so excited to be meeting Ben in such a comfortable setting. It definitely makes things easier.
