finally... nursery pictures

it's been about two months since the nursery's been painted and at least a month since it's been really finished... and i finally got around to taking some pictures today. sophie and i were up there replacing the batteries in the mobile and hanging his room-darkening shade, and i remembered to grab the camera and take a few shots. anyhow, here it is...

from the door, this is the left end of the room... the bookshelf and crib...

here's the name train i painted for him. i'd painted letter blocks for sophie and wanted something a little different this time. i love the train. these little shelves are on the wall opposite the door...

the fully stocked closet, on the same wall as the door. these are just 0-3 month clothes...

and the changing table, opposite end of the room from the crib. there are even more 0-3 months clothes in the top two drawers (mostly gowns, socks and pants). this kid is never going to need to wear the same thing twice...

it's nothing fancy, but i like it that way. having a playroom downstairs, the nursery is mainly just for sleeping, bathing and dressing. that's really all we used it for with sophie. i am really pleased with how the room converted from a girl room to a boy room with very little effort. i tried to pick a room theme (bedding, etc) that could be gender neutral, but you can never be sure how it will look until you do it. i think we did a good job picking something that worked with both pink and blue. i love walking in there and seeing the room all ready for him... it makes me more and more anxious every time!
