even more to cross off the list we worked more this weekend to get ready for little ben. adam brought the bassinet up from the basement and we got that set up on friday night. i had already washed the sheet and such, so it is in our room now and completely ready to go. on saturday i went through all of the big "baby gear" things in the basement (infant car seat, swing, bouncy seat, etc.) and got everything together. i took off all of the fabric coverings and straps and washed them, then brought the pieces upstairs and put everything back together again. it feels so good to see everything nice and clean and ready. sophie is pretty funny about seeing all of the new stuff - she walks around and points to things and says "baby" because we told her that it was all for baby ben. she has liked to turn the swing off and on a few times, but so far she's been really good about leaving that stuff alone and seems to understand that it's not for her. this morning she pointed to the bassinet and said "baby night-night" when she walked by it... last night i had told her that was where the baby would be sleeping... so she is definitely catching on. the nursery is pretty much all set to go... i still have a few little things i'd like to do (like install his room darkening window shade) and some things might change here or there, but if we brought him home tomorrow it would be fine. i've got to take some pictures. its feeling more and more real everyday!
