weird evening

last night while adam and i were getting sophie ready for bed, i started feeling really crampy in my belly and back. mostly it was in my back - but it was so achey and uncomfortable that it actually made my stomach kind of upset. the more i thought about it, i worried a little - but i wasn't having any contractions at all, it was just a constant ache. regardless, it wasn't very comfortable and adam helped a lot by rubbing my lower back where the muscles were most tight. i woke up several hours after we'd fallen asleep and i felt so much better.

i think this was my body's way of telling me to slow down. we'd had a pretty busy weekend and i'd been walking and carrying sophie a lot... and playing pretty hard with her, too. we went to the beach on sunday and i spent a lot of time in the water with her tossing her around. obviously i am conscious of not lifting too much and being careful of my activity, but even so i guess i overdid it a bit. it definitely made me realize i need to slow down sometimes.

its hard, because if i'm taking it easy and not playing with sophie in the ways i usually do, then i feel guilty. but then again, i feel guilty about doing too much, too. its a tough balancing act, to be sure.
