feeding the baby the other night when we were finishing up dinner, sophie was down from her highchair and standing between my chair and adam's chair at the table. she still had something in her hand (i don't remember what... a piece of bread maybe?) and we were talking about the baby and showing her where the baby is. she came over and patted my belly, said "baby," and then tried to put her food on my belly, like she was feeding the baby. it was the cutest thing ever! i still don't think she understands at all what's going on, but she is starting to associate my belly with a baby, which i think is pretty good for her age. i think it helps that the neighbors have a newborn that she gets to see a lot, so she at least understands what a baby is, etc. i can't wait to see her with her new sibling!
