"morning" sickness... and other first-trimester joys

for me, its been more of an all-day sickness... although the evenings seem to be the worst. i was never too sick when i was pregnant with sophie, but this baby seems to be making up for it. honestly, it hasn't been that bad, and i've only actually thrown up twice, but i have this nagging nausea that is around a lot. i'm bothered more by smells, and certain times of day i have a hard time eating much or finding anything very appetizing.

but, all in all, i've actually been feeling pretty good. i was honestly worried about how the first trimester would treat me this time, since i have a toddler to chase after and keep up with. i remember coming home in the afternoons and taking naps when i was pregnant with sophie, and that is obviously not an option this time. on the rare occassion that sophie herself decides to take a nap, though - you'd better believe that i join her! i have felt more tired, for sure, but its not been so bad. i'm still up a few times at night with sophie, too... but even so, i'm still getting a pretty generous amount of sleep at night because i tend to go to bed early when she does. sometimes i feel physically tired, especially in my back... and i'm sure that is due to how much i'm carrying sophie around. however, i try to moderate the carrying... i figure that i have to carry her, and i want to - so i try to leave any other carrying or lifting to adam. that seems to help.

overall, this first trimester has been really speeding along. we've got until the end of this month, and then we're already into the second trimester. its kind of crazy how quickly the time is passing. hopefully i'll just have a few more weeks of feeling kind of cruddy before i start feeling more like myself again. of course, then new aches and issues will be finding me, but that stuff i can deal with... feeling sick is just no fun. i'll definitely be glad when that's over!
